You will have to go to the PRS web-site and e-mail them the serial number via the 'Contact Us' option and ask them. While your at it ask them for a specification sheet for your guitar too. Help Identify This PRS. As an update, here is the reply from PRS Customer service. Your guitar SN # 09 152894 appears to be a 2009 Custom 22 with a 10 grade maple top. A wide fat carve rosewood neck and fretboard with bird inlays. A solid mahogany body with a stoptail bridge and nickel hardware.

Remarks

  • The first Tissot serial numbers was ingraved on the edge of the plate, underneatch of the dial. Later on Tissot serial numbers was engraved on the plates or on a bridge.
  • As from current 1972, the identification of the movement was made by means of “medallions”
  • As from 1977 individual Tissot serial numbers on the movements was abandoned. Are utilized only but with different references.
  • As from 1984, the use of Tissot serial numbers was completely abandoned.

    Can't say I've seen the site, but I think you're referring to a MODCAT decoder - this is the full barcode/serial that's on the inside of one of the pickup cavities, rather than the headstock serial no.

  • I always wonder who updates those Modcat decoders. Last time I tried they couldn't find my 2011 McCarty but they bring up the correct specs for it now. They don't seem to be able to cope with S2 models though.
